Rodding vs Hydro Jetting: What's the Difference?
Both clear clogs, but they do very different things. Here's how to think about which one your line actually needs.

Rodding and hydro jetting are the two most common ways to clear a sewer or drain line, and they're not interchangeable.
Rodding uses a cable to break through a clog and get water moving again. It's fast, effective, and usually the right first move for a straightforward blockage.
Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to clean the inside of the line — clearing buildup, grease, and debris that rodding leaves behind. It's the better choice when a line keeps slowing down or when you want to restore full flow as part of maintenance.
The right call depends on what's actually in the line. We inspect first, then recommend the approach that solves the real problem — not the one that costs more.
